My larger planted tank is flourishing. I add API CO2 booster everyday or so. Is is worth it to invest in a CO2 canister setup or should I just leave well enough alone?
In my experience it is worth it, but it does require more cost and planning up front. You’ll need to budget for the cannister, diffuser, tubing, and a regulator. Once established you’ll have a “set it and forget it” CO2 setup, and your only maintenance related to the CO2 would be refilling the gas every few months.
If you have strong lighting, you’ll also be able to grow some of the most vibrant plants in the hobby – definitely a fun and rewarding challenge.
If you have a store nearby that can do CO2 refills, I would definitely consider it!
